Don Peebles, the son of a mechanic, grew up in Washington, DC, and has built a real estate empire that includes three palatial family homes, Candace Jackson reports on wsj.com.
There's the Bridgehampton house above, another in Coral Gables, Fla., and a third in Washington's Massachusetts Avenue Heights neighborhood near the vice president's residence. And there's a beach house in Sag Harbor, Long Island.
