New Horizons approaching Pluto

NASA's New Horizons space probe completed an historic fly-by of Pluto today, becoming the first spacecraft to pass over the small, icy planet, Amanda Barnett reported on cnn.com.

The unmanned piano-size spacecraft went over Pluto at 7:49 am ET, traveling at nearly 31,000 mph about 7,750 miles above Pluto's surface, NASA said, according to Barnett.
