Giant HP Seeks Reinvigoration with Split

Reinvigorating...

Writing today's story on my HP laptop.

HP, the giant computer company whose laptops and printers are used by millions around the wold, begins operating as two companies this week.

The Silicon Valley icon is splitting itself into HP Inc. and Hewlett Packard Enterprise as it seeks to reinvigorate a huge, slow-moving enterprise.

HP Inc. will largely consist of personal computers and printers.  Hewlett Packard Enterprise will sell the computer servers, data storage, networking, software and consulting services that run a modern company, Quentin Hardy reports on nytimes.com.

Each company is expected to have annual revenue of about $50 billion and will be among America's 500 largest public companies, Hardy wrote.

HP is a wonder. "HP sells two PCs a second.  A server every six seconds," Meg Whitman, HP's chief executive said, according to Hardy.
