Carl Sagan: The Pale Blue Dot

A mote of dust...

Earthrise:  Earth photographed from the moon

Carl Sagan's famous, the Pale Blue Dot  -- a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.

I like Sagan's conclusion...This distant image of our tiny world underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another and to preserve and cherish the only home we've ever known...the pale blue dot.

With thanks to Regis McKenna for reminding me about this Sagan classic.
