Facebook's Russia-Linked Ads Came in Many Disguises

Disinformation campaign...

A Facebook ad believed to be linked to Russia featured inflammatory commentary.

The Russians who posed as Americans on Facebook last year tried on an array of disguises, Mike Isaac and Scott Shane report on nytimes.com.

There was "Defend the 2nd," a Facebook page for gun-supporters.  There was a rainbow-hued page for gay right activists.  There was even a page for animal lovers with memes of adorable puppies, Isaac and Shane wrote.

For a fascinating report on what Federal investigators and Facebook officials now believe was a highly coordinated Russian disinformation campaign: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/02/technology/facebook-russia-ads-.html
