Much of North Korea -- and its armed forces -- has been a mystery since it was founded in 1948, Fox Van Allen and Ed Jones report on cnet.com.

Because of the country's penchant for holding military parades and firing test missiles, we have been able to gather a lot of information about the increasingly aggressive nation and its capacity for war, they added.
