Remembering John McCain

Farewell...

Sen. John McCain's casket arrives at the National Cathedral in Washington.

Sen. John McCain was honored in Phoenix, in the Capitol Rotunda and in the National Cathedral over the weekend as thousands gathered and millions watched on television.

His commemorations reminded the nation of the accomplishments of a remarkable man who believed deeply in America and who served his country for decades.

Family, friends and former presidents praised the often unorthodox man from Arizona.

Their commemorations reminded the nation of the senator's beliefs in the enduring values, principles and greatness of America and the strengths of its people and institutions, with an often lighter aside or recollection of McCain's wonderful sense of humor.
